SWU Grateful That CA Councilmember Martinez Lost His Bid In the Mayoral Run-Off

"We are grateful that Eduardo Martinez has failed to qualify for the run-off in the November general election for Richmond, California mayor. During Eduardo Martinez's disgraceful tenure in office, StandWithUs Northern California called for his resignation after he repeatedly used his position to attack the Jewish community in Richmond by promulgating deeply antisemitic City Council resolutions and spreading conspiracy theories that echoed discredited lies and blood libels about Israel and the Jewish people. Martinez openly celebrated the October 7, 2023 mass murder carried out by Hamas in Israel, the greatest massacre of Jews since the end of the Holocaust. In the wake of the terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Australia targeting the Jewish community while they were celebrating the first night of Hanukkah, where 15 Jews were murdered and many others were injured, Martinez went on social media to blame Israel and the Jewish people for the attack.
