A team of doctors from Save A Child's Heart, an Israeli-based international humanitarian non-profit organization, has returned from Rwanda after a week-long medical mission that saved the lives of 21 children suffering from complex heart conditions.
The team performed life-saving cardiac procedures at King Faisal Hospital in Kigali. The mission also marked a major milestone: the return of Dr. Gerard Misago, who became Rwanda's first pediatric interventional cardiologist after completing three years of specialized training in Israel.
Since its founding, Save A Child's Heart has trained over 170 medical professionals from developing countries, with the goal of enabling local doctors to independently perform advanced pediatric cardiac procedures. This is what Israel does.
