Their son is 18 months old. He points at photos and says, "This is Abba (dad). This is Ima (mother).”

"You would have been so excited to see this - it's new from the past few days," Ro'i Sapir told her husband Itamar at his funeral on May 20. "Maayan needs you now, tomorrow, in another decade, in 20 years."
Major (res.) Itamar Sapir (27) was killed in an encounter with a Hezbollah terrorist in southern Lebanon. He left behind his wife Ro'i, their son Maayan Yiftach - named after Itamar's fallen Maglan Unit comrade from October 7, 2023, - and a family shattered by loss.
"I called you after they told me you were dead, and I didn't believe it," Ro'i said through tears. "Something in me died with you." May Itamar’s memory forever be a blessing.
